Our Timber

Quality timber makes quality logs

Your end product is only as good as your raw material. We buy our timber from sustainable sources such as woodlands within 50 miles of our yard ensuring a small carbon footprint . We want the best possible product for our customers and we take great care in our process to create the perfect load of logs to satisfy our customers.

The process

Our timber is loaded onto the log deck by either the crane or forklift, it then goes through our Tajfun 400 Firewood Processor which cuts the logs to 9inch length and splits into 8 logs per cycle. They then go up the conveyor and over the cleaner to remove all the small bits and shards. The IBC crates are then filled, stacked for 8 weeks in our open ended barn then ready for the kiln drying process.

Kiln Drying

Fuelled by offcuts, pallets, scraps and shaff of the processor the biomass boiler runs the kiln. Blowing 120 degree hot air into our insulated containers the logs go in after being stacked up for 8 weeks, then 4 days later come out as kiln dried firewood below 20% moisture content. They’re loaded in IBC crates then are run through the bagging hopper to be put into bulk bags.
